Outside of the centre you can, shop quite cheap - the more residential the district the lower the prices, but you will be hard pressed to find something original or good quailty. It will be standard unimaginative stuff.
Chinese Shops
These are excellent when you don't care about quality too much. You can buy practically anything for a fraction of the usual price. Do not expect high quality, electronic items to be avoided mostly. The chinese shops are all over the city. There is one 100m up the street.
